Twenty-five years ago, Ofra and Eliezer Bar Shalom started AB Dental, a dental implant company in Israel. Today, the company works with distributors in more than fifty countries, with three generations of the family involved in running it. To mark the anniversary, they invited their distributors from around the world to join them on an eight-day cruise through Europe.

I built the film around their archive of photographs. We went through years of material, wrote a script, created a storyboard, and then used the photographs to build new scenes around the people in them. I wanted them and the original locations to remain recognisable, while giving the old images a new life. Everyone who appeared in the film was either part of the company or one of its distributors, so the archive became a record of the people who built the story with them.

The film premiered at the final gala, with everyone gathered in the room. I watched Ofra and Eliezer moved to tears. The employees and distributors saw themselves on screen, and it strengthened a feeling that had always been there: this is their story too.
